When I designed this outfit (specifically the hat) I was having a crappy day. I wanted to be shielded/protected from the world.

Yet I still wanted the outfit to look "summery and fun" so I made it white vs. black. Instead of a heart broken introvert, she looks like she is on her way to the beach or a yacht and just wants to be protected from the sun. Ha ha.

I find it upsetting that many disregard fashion as an art form, all of my designs reflect my moods and feelings. I feel that in choosing what we are going to wear all of us (save nudists?) participate in a creative experience.

This dress is named Odile because when I drew it I had been listening to music from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake over and over again. I had to give the woman wearing the dress red hair because frankly, my Odile was a redhead...

I want to make another dress inspired by Odette.
